After hearing someone say Alhamdulillah for sneezing.
Before I start anything important.
Whenever I think of my friends.
Right after Asr or before sunset.
After every prayer, and before sleeping.
Morning, evening, and before sleep.
If I wake from a scary dream — then turn over and don't tell anyone.
After a happy dream — share it only with someone you love.
After eating at someone's home.
Right after my first sip at iftar.
Just before starting wudu.
When I step inside my house — say salam too.
When putting on something new.
When I see rain coming down.
When I hear thunder roar.
When strong wind blows.
When I see the crescent moon.
When boarding a car, plane, or train for a trip.
When I get back from a trip.
Before any test or hard task.
When I can't remember something important.
When something is making me worry.
When I'm in big trouble — Allah saved Yunus ﷺ from the whale with this dua.
Once in the morning and once in the evening — the best way to ask forgiveness.
When I visit someone who isn't well.
When I hear someone has passed away.
Say it 100 times — sins forgiven even if like sea foam!
Whenever I want to ask Allah for something good.
Before reading, studying, or learning anything new.
The Prophet ﷺ made this dua most often.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ
Alhamdu-lillaahil-ladhee ahyaanaa ba'da maa amaatanaa wa ilayhin-nushoor.
"All praise is for Allah who gave us life after taking it, and to Him is the return."
Right after opening my eyes in the morning.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ
Bismillaah.
"In the name of Allah."
Before taking my first bite.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنِي هَذَا وَرَزَقَنِيهِ
Alhamdu lillaahil-ladhee at'amanee haadhaa wa razaqaneehi.
"All praise is for Allah who fed me this and provided it for me."
When I finish my meal.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ
Bismillaah.
"In the name of Allah."

بِاسْمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا
Bismika Allaahumma amootu wa ahyaa.
"In Your name, O Allah, I die and I live."
When I lie down in bed.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ
Bismillaah, Allaahumma innee a'oodhu bika minal-khubuthi wal-khabaa'ith.
"In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from evil and evil-doers."
Before I step inside.
غُفْرَانَكَ
Ghufraanak.
"I seek Your forgiveness."
Right after I come out.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ
Bismillaah, tawakkaltu 'alallaah, wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaah.
"In the name of Allah. I trust in Allah. There is no power except with Allah."
When I step out the front door.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي هَذَا وَرَزَقَنِيهِ
Alhamdu lillaahil-ladhee kasaanee haadhaa wa razaqaneehi.
"All praise is for Allah who clothed me with this and provided it for me."
When I get dressed.
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ حَسَّنْتَ خَلْقِي فَحَسِّنْ خُلُقِي
Allaahumma anta hassanta khalqee fa hassin khuluqee.
"O Allah, You made my appearance beautiful, so make my character beautiful too."
Whenever I look in a mirror.
رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
Rabbi zidnee 'ilmaa.
"My Lord, increase me in knowledge."
Before I start studying or reading.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ
Alhamdulillaah.
"All praise is for Allah."
Right after I sneeze.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ
Alhamdulillaah.
"All praise is for Allah."
When I feel happy or grateful.
حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ
Hasbi-yallaahu laa ilaaha illaa huwa.
"Allah is enough for me. There is no god but Him."
Whenever I feel afraid.
رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
Rabbir-hamhumaa kamaa rabbayaanee sagheeraa.
"My Lord, have mercy on them as they raised me when I was little."
Anytime I think of my parents.
اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ
Allaahummaf-tah lee abwaaba rahmatik.
"O Allah, open the gates of Your mercy for me."
When I step into the mosque.
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ
Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illallaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasooluh.
"I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger."
After making wudu.
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ
Astaghfirullaah.
"I seek Allah's forgiveness."
Whenever I make a mistake.
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Rabbanaa aatinaa fid-dunyaa hasanatan wa fil-aakhirati hasanatan wa qinaa 'adhaaban-naar.
"Our Lord, give us good in this life and good in the next, and save us from the fire."
A favorite dua to say anytime!
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ فِي سَفَرِنَا هَذَا الْبِرَّ وَالتَّقْوَى
Allaahumma innaa nas'aluka fee safarinaa haadhaal-birra wat-taqwaa.
"O Allah, we ask You on this journey for goodness and piety."
When I'm going on a trip or to school.
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
A'oodhu billaahi minash-shaytaanir-rajeem.
"I seek refuge in Allah from the rejected Shaytan."
When I feel my heart getting angry.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ
Allaahumma innee a'oodhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazan.
"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and sadness."
When I feel sad or worried.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
Allaahumma innee as'aluka min fadlik.
"O Allah, I ask You from Your bounty."
Right after I leave the mosque.
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ
Subhaanal-ladhee sakhkhara lanaa haadhaa wa maa kunnaa lahu muqrineen.
"Glory to Him who made this serve us — we could not have done it ourselves."
When I get into a car or bus.
جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا
Jazaakallaahu khayraa.
"May Allah reward you with good."
To thank someone for their kindness.
اللَّهُمَّ صَيِّبًا نَافِعًا
Allaahumma sayyiban naafi'aa.
"O Allah, make it a beneficial rain."
When I see rain falling.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ
Bismillaahil-ladhee laa yadurru ma'as-mihi shay'un fil-ardi wa laa fis-samaa'.
"In the name of Allah — with His name nothing in the earth or sky can harm."
Every morning to stay safe.
يَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ
Yarhamukallaah.
"May Allah have mercy on you."
After hearing someone say Alhamdulillah for sneezing.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Bismillaahir-rahmaanir-raheem.
"In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful."
Before I start anything important.
اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِي صُحْبَةً صَالِحَةً
Allaahummar-zuqnee suhbatan saalihah.
"O Allah, bless me with righteous friends."
Whenever I think of my friends.
أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ
Amsaynaa wa amsal-mulku lillaah.
"We have reached the evening and the kingdom belongs to Allah."
Right after Asr or before sunset.
اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ
Allaahu laa ilaaha illaa huwal-Hayyul-Qayyoom...
"Allah! There is no god but Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining."
After every prayer, and before sleeping.
قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ • قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ • قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ
Qul huwallaahu ahad; Qul a'oodhu bi-Rabbil-Falaq; Qul a'oodhu bi-Rabbin-Naas.
"Three short surahs that protect us — say each one three times."
Morning, evening, and before sleep.
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
A'oodhu billaahi minash-shaytaanir-rajeem.
"I seek refuge in Allah from the cursed Shaytan."

ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوقُ وَثَبَتَ الْأَجْرُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ
Dhahaba-dh-dhama'u wabtallatil-'urooqu wa thabatal-ajru inshaa Allah.
"Thirst is gone, veins are moist, and the reward is set, in shaa Allah."
Right after my first sip at iftar.

"In the name of Allah."

"In Allah's name we enter, in Allah's name we leave, and upon our Lord we rely."

Alhamdulillaahil-ladhee kasaanee haadhaa.

Allaahumma innee as'aluka khayrahaa wa a'oodhu bika min sharrihaa.
"O Allah, I ask You for its good and seek refuge from its harm."
When strong wind blows.
اللَّهُمَّ أَهِلَّهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْيُمْنِ وَالْإِيمَانِ
Allaahumma ahillahu 'alaynaa bil-yumni wal-eemaan.
"O Allah, bring it over us with blessings and faith."
When I see the crescent moon.
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ
Subhaanal-ladhee sakhkhara lanaa haadhaa wa maa kunnaa lahu muqrineen.
"Glory to Him who made this serve us — we could never have done it."
When boarding a car, plane, or train for a trip.
آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ
Aaiboona taa'iboona 'aabidoona li-Rabbinaa haamidoon.
"Returning, repenting, worshipping, praising our Lord."
When I get back from a trip.
رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي
Rabbi-shrah lee sadree wa yassir lee amree.
"My Lord, expand my chest and make my task easy."
Before any test or hard task.
اللَّهُمَّ ذَكِّرْنِي مَا نَسِيتُ
Allaahumma dhakkirnee maa naseet.
"O Allah, remind me of what I have forgotten."
When I can't remember something important.
حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ
Hasbunallaahu wa ni'mal-wakeel.
"Allah is enough for us, and what a wonderful Trustee."
When something is making me worry.
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
Laa ilaaha illaa anta subhaanaka innee kuntu minadh-dhaalimeen.
"There is no god but You, glory to You — I have wronged myself."
When I'm in big trouble — Allah saved Yunus ﷺ from the whale with this dua.
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ
Allaahumma anta Rabbee laa ilaaha illaa anta, khalaqtanee wa anaa 'abduk...
"O Allah, You are my Lord — there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant."
Once in the morning and once in the evening — the best way to ask forgiveness.
لَا بَأْسَ طَهُورٌ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ
Laa ba'sa tahoorun inshaa Allah.
"No worries — may it be a cleansing, Allah willing."

إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
Innaa lillaahi wa innaa ilayhi raaji'oon.
"Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return."

"Glory be to Allah and praise Him."
