The author concluded: 'There is no difference in any of these nullifiers between the one who jokes, the one who is serious, and the one who is afraid — except for the one forced under duress. All of them are among the most dangerous matters and most common in occurrence. So the Muslim must beware of them and fear them for himself. We seek refuge in Allah from those things that bring His anger and painful punishment.'

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen warned: takfir of a specific individual requires conditions to be met and barriers (mawāni‘) to be absent — this must be left to scholars. Knowing the nullifiers is meant to protect oneself, not to declare others disbelievers without due process.
