التعريف
The way one understands, prioritises, applies, and propagates the religion. The correct manhaj is that of the Salaf — the Companions and the two generations following them — in ‘aqīdah, fiqh, da‘wah, and conduct.
النطق: MAN-haj
الاشتقاق والجذر
From the root ن-ه-ج (n-h-j), meaning 'a clear, open road.' Allah used the same root: 'For each of you We made a sharī‘ah and a minhāj.' (al-Mā'idah 5:48)
ملاحظات علمية
Manhaj is broader than fiqh: it includes how one approaches the texts, how one corrects opponents, who one takes knowledge from, and how one prioritises issues. A correct ‘aqīdah with a corrupt manhaj will still produce deviance.
مفاهيم خاطئة شائعة
Some treat manhaj as a sectarian label. In truth, it is simply the methodology of the Salaf — adhered to by every sincere generation since.
التطبيق العملي
Take knowledge from people of Sunnah grounded in the Salafī methodology; be cautious of speakers known for opposing it, no matter how eloquent.
