Ibn Taymiyyah affirmed that the signs of the Hour are divided into minor and major. The minor signs (most already occurred) include the sending of the Prophet ﷺ, his death, the conquests, widespread fitan, and the spread of ignorance. The major signs in their correct order according to the hadith of Hudhayfah (Muslim) are: the smoke, the Dajjal, the Beast, the rising of the sun from the west, the descent of ʿIsa ibn Maryam, Yajuj and Majuj, three earthquakes (east, west, Arabia), and finally the fire that drives people to the place of gathering.

Key Takeaway

The minor signs precede the major, which culminate in the descent of ʿIsa, Yajuj/Majuj, and the final fire.
