Ibn Taymiyyah affirmed the finality of prophethood (khatm an-nubuwwah) by explicit Quranic text — "Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets" (al-Ahzab 33:40) — and by the mutawatir hadith: "There will be thirty Dajjals in my Ummah, each claiming he is a prophet, but I am the Seal of the Prophets, there is no prophet after me" (Abu Dawud, sahih). Anyone who claims prophethood after him, or believes such a claimant, is a kafir by ijmaʿ.

Key Takeaway

The finality of Muhammad ﷺ is established by Quran 33:40 and mutawatir hadith; denying it is kufr by consensus.
