The Three Fundamental Principles · Chapter 5

الأصل الثالث: معرفة نبيكم محمد ﷺ

The Third Principle — Knowing the Prophet ﷺ

English Translation

He is Muhammad, son of Abdullah, son of Abdul-Muttalib, son of Hashim. Hashim was from Quraysh, Quraysh from the Arabs, and the Arabs from the descendants of Isma‘il, son of Ibrahim al-Khalil ﷺ. He lived 63 years: 40 before prophethood and 23 as a prophet and messenger. He was raised as a prophet by 'Iqra' and as a messenger by 'al-Muddaththir'. His city was Makkah, and he migrated to Madinah. Allah sent him to warn against shirk and call to Tawheed.
