His life in brief
Born in Makkah around 570 CE. Orphaned young. Known as 'al-Amīn' (the trustworthy) before prophethood. Received first revelation at age 40. Preached Islam in Makkah for 13 years, then Madinah for 10 more. Died at 63 having transformed Arabia and humanity.
Why we love him
He showed us how Allah wants us to live. Following him is following Allah. 'Whoever obeys the Messenger has obeyed Allah.' (4:80)
